(Self-)Regulating Labour in Cambodian Garment Factories

Factories that produce for multinational garment manufacturers originating from coordinated market economies, such as Korea, have consistently high rates of compliance with labour standards compared to other corporations from different varieties of capitalism. This can be explained by the global strategies these firms follow, which are grounded in and influenced by their home country institutional context, leading to stronger forms of embeddedness and more durable and stable network relationships, with more positive consequences for the level of compliance in many categories.
