Social dialogue (SD) improves company performance and can help avoid problems. Trade unions have a key position in the structured settings of SD. Good industrial relations (IR) is about good relationships between people at the workplace that helps to make both the working conditions and the company better. Workers have the right to establish and join organizations (unions) of their own choosing without previous authorization.

This bipartite training program will equip workers and employers at the workplace level with tools to successfully implement social dialogue and collective bargaining in their working environment.

By the end of this module participants will:

• Have a better understanding of industrial relations and the way in which rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining can operate in practice at the workplace level
• Be able to identify good practices that they can use to prevent and resolve workplace disputes and come to common understandings
• Be able to understand appropriate channels through which to discuss and resolve issues at the workplace level
