Globally, the garment sector employs more than 60 million people. 80% of them are women. For many, it is their first job. As our research shows, when these jobs are quality jobs, they can be an important driver of change for women, their families and communities – and even for the country as a whole.
This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the courage and determination of women in the world of work by sharing the stories of seven diverse women employed in Jordanian garment factories.
