Through its activities in the garment sector, Better Work Indonesia has helped participating firms to improve working conditions by raising levels of compliance with national labour law and international standards. Established in 2011, the programme has also positively influenced national labour policy in several areas through its convening function among key stakeholders over the past ten years.
This report highlights the key areas of improvement and persistent challenges which remain in achieving decent work and thriving, sustainable businesses in the Indonesian garment sector.
