Shipra has more than ten years of work experience in the development sector in Bangladesh, mainly in the areas of Training & Capacity Building. She joined Better Work Bangladesh as a Training Officer in 2015. She is also the gender focal person for the BWB programme in Bangladesh. She has wide-ranging experience in building the capacity of the garment workers and owners in the Better Work Factories in Bangladesh. At BWB, Shipra has been working to raise awareness and practices at the factory level to address sexual harassment and violence against women and men at the workplace. She has experience in managing projects on Sexual Harassment Prevention and women empowerment in the RMG sector in Bangladesh. Prior to joining ILO, Shipra worked for different NGOs, INGOs, and UN Agencies. In her previous role at UNDP, Chowdhury worked on training and capacity building. She also worked with an MDG project at UNDP for improving the lives of adolescent girls as well as managing a project on women’s political participation. She holds a Master in Social Science from the University of Rajshahi and a postgraduate diploma in civic journalism.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
