Alexa Hough joined Better Work Global in August 2015 and is currently working as the Finance and HR Project Manager. Her career has spanned several finance related jobs in several countries. She qualified as a chartered accountant (ACA) with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the UK in 2000 and then, in 2002, went to work first as a volunteer and then with an NGO in The Gambia, West Africa. In 2005, she joined the Office of Finance and Administration at UNDP HQ in New York. From there, Alexa moved to UNDP Ha Noi to work on Delivering as One UN issues, specifically working with donors to support the development of the One Plan Fund, and then working closely with the Resident Coordinator’s office on its allocation of funds to UN organisations in Viet Nam. Alexa moved to Bangkok in 2012, where she joined the ILO as Finance and Administration Officer for the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, before transferring to the Better Work Programme in August 2015. Alexa has a MSc in Financial Economics from SOAS in London and a BA in Accounting and Financial Analysis from the University of Newcastle in the UK.
