Case Study: Jordan Signs Groundbreaking CBA in the Garment Sector

In 2012, the stakeholders in Jordan entered into discussions regarding the establishment a collective bargaining agreement for the garment sector, to secure good working conditions and promote workplace cooperation. With support from Better Work Jordan and ILO experts, the groundbreaking CBA was signed by employers and unions in 2013, and covers more than 55,000 workers in the export apparel sector. The CBA is one of the most comprehensive of its kind for Jordan, the Middle East and the industry worldwide.
