Prior to the current position, Sophia has worked at higher education institutions as lecturer in law. She also served as legal affairs director and worked as lawyer litigating different civil, criminal and labour cases before a court of law. Currently, she is a PHD candidate at Addis Ababa University. She earned her MA from Addis Ababa University School of Law and Governance and LL.B degree from Jimma University from School of Law. Her area of interest are human rights, constitutional law and labour law.
