IFC
Larissa Luy is a sustainability leader with a proven record of accomplishment in environmental and social (E&S) risk management, promoting collaboration, and building strong partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups. She joined the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in 2005 and has since held a range of leadership roles in investment operations and policy development, with a particular focus on agribusiness, infrastructure, and energy sectors.
Before joining IFC, Larissa worked with Levi Strauss & Co. in Brussels, managing environmental and social issues across the company’s supply chain. At IFC, she was part of the core team that developed the IFC Sustainability Framework and managed the ILO/IFC Better Work Program—two landmark initiatives that strengthened the institution’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive growth.
Currently, Larissa serves as World Bank Group Director of Environmental & Social Risk, leading the team responsible for overseeing WBG’s global E&S risk management function. In this role, she is spearheading efforts to integrate E&S risk oversight across WBG’s operations. She oversees a global team of 40 environmental and social specialists based in Washington, D.C. She holds an MSc in Industrial Engineering and Environmental Management and an MA in International Relations.
