Blanca, part of the Better Work Nicaragua team since January 2013, has been cultivating and strengthening institutional relations with government entities committed to the program. For 9 years she gained experience in different ILO Technical Cooperation Projects, reaching a broad understanding of the Nicaraguan context and developing strong relationships with the main industry stakeholders. Previously she served as Inspector, as Conciliatory Attorney, and as Director of International Affairs of the Ministry of Labor. Her vast experience in labour laws and knowledge of International Labour Standards allow Blanca to contribute to developing and updating the Programme Compliance Assessment Tools. Blanca holds a Law degree and a Masters in Labour Law and Social Security from the University of Barcelona, Spain.
