This project aims to develop and revise professional written materials—both print and digital— to promote Better Work and document the programme’s impact among tripartite constituents, brand partners, donors and the general public. The work aims to present Better Work externally and within the ILO in a dynamic, modern format that is streamlined and free of errors.
Project Components / Deliverables
This assignment involves assisting in the development, editing, and proofreading of the Better Work Country Programme strategies and potentially, different types of Better Work communications materials, both for printing and/or digital use, upon request, as well as working with the communications team to meet deadlines.
The expectation is for the editor to be available via email, phone or online chat for relatively quick turnaround of materials, to accurately communicate time needed for a thorough copyedit, to be able to communicate questions and recommendations for changes, and to be familiar with language and
grammar conventions (ideally also to be familiar with the ILO Style Guide). Additionally, we seek an editor who is comfortable guiding the development of structural integrity, coherence and cohesion, and clear direction of documents. In other words, this is not only a position for a skilled copyeditor, but also for someone with the capacity for developmental and structural guidance for a piece of writing.
The deliverable includes:
- Assisting in revision of and copyediting Better Work country programme strategies
- Copyediting and proofreading additional written content according to the ILO Style Guide
The specific deliverables will be further defined together with the Geneva-based Communications officer.
